I am a PhD Candidate in Psychology at the University of Michigan working with Dr. Ethan Kross, Dr. Amie Gordon, and Dr. Shinobu Kitayama.

Broadly, I study social connection and disconnection. My research is guided by the following questions:

  1. When, how, and why is spending time alone beneficial or harmful?

  2. How can we more effectively help individuals and organizations alleviate loneliness?

  3. How do novel technologies such as AI companions influence our social lives and emotional well-being?

In my work, I integrate perspectives from social-personality, cultural, and clinical psychology.

I utilize a variety of methodologies, including experiments, intensive longitudinal designs (e.g., experience sampling), archival analyses, digital data collection (e.g., screen time), and publicly available cross-cultural datasets.
